Why floor plans matter — and what makes a good one

Floor plans are one of the highest-ROI things you can add to a listing. They drive more enquiries, filter out time-wasters, and help buyers and tenants commit faster.

Listings with floor plans get significantly more clicks

Rightmove's own research has consistently shown that listings with a floor plan generate more click-throughs than listings without. Buyers and tenants use the plan to picture furniture, plan a move and shortlist properties — without one, your listing is competing with one hand tied behind its back.

Fewer wasted viewings

A clear floor plan helps the wrong applicants self-select out before they ever book a viewing. That means more of your diary is spent with serious, qualified buyers — and less time driving across town for a 60-second 'too small' rejection.

What makes a good floor plan

Not all floor plans are equal. The ones that perform best on portals share a few things in common:

  • Clean 2D layout with consistent line weights
  • Room labels and dimensions (m and ft)
  • Total gross internal area shown
  • Compass north indicator
  • Branded or unbranded versions for agency use

Turnaround matters

Most landlords and agents want to list within 48 hours of instruction. We deliver scaled floor plans within 24 hours of the visit, alongside EPC, photography and inventory if you bundle them.
